The much anticipated next-generation videogame system, PlayStation 5 opens for pre-booking for all customers on Amazon India from today, 12 pm, 12 January 2021. Customers can also pre-order additional accessories like DualSense wireless controller and Media Remote and popular games like Demon’s Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Marvel’s Spiderman Miles Morales for PS5.
Although Sony said it will start selling the PlayStation 5 consoles in India from 2 February across all the above-mentioned platforms, it did not specify the ratio in which the stocks will be available to different channels. According to their official tweet, Sony seems to prioritise online channels over the offline retails. Therefore, the maximum number of PS5 units will be put on sale on Amazon and Flipkart.
The PlayStation 5 is priced at Rs 49,990 and customers can avail No Cost EMI on HDFC, Axis Bank, ICICI and SBI cards starting Rs 8,332. The next-generation gaming console has had an interesting past in India because the PS5 had an uncertain future here. Although it went on sale around mid-November in the US, the Indian enthusiasts have longed for the PlayStation 5 units in India. There was no clarity on why that was the case but Sony did repeatedly defer launches by putting out statements either to thwart the rumours around the launch of PS5 in India or to warn customers who got the PlayStation 5 units from abroad. Sony said that the units that have not been bought in India will have no warranty or customer support.
